Annemieke Zwanenburg
Within the Public Law practice group, Annemieke acts as an advisor, negotiator and litigator for Stibbe's clients in a wide range of public law matters (general administrative law, European law and constitutional law).
Within the Public Law practice group, Annemieke acts as an advisor, negotiator and litigator for Stibbe's clients in a wide range of public law matters (general administrative law, European law and constitutional law).
In particular, she works on cases where legal and political-administrative forces come together. Examples include advice and litigation on implications of current and future laws and regulations, intergovernmental relations and government intervention (such as public oversight and supervision).
Clients for which Annemieke acts as public law counsel include companies, government bodies, special interest organisations and other semi-public institutions.
Annemieke joined the Public Law practice group in December 2018. In 2021, she spent a year in Stibbe's Financial Regulatory team, acting as counsel to financial institutions, listed companies and institutional investors in a broad range of financial regulatory and other compliance matters.
Annemieke is a member of Stibbe’s pro bono committee and an active member of the NJCM (the Nederlands Juristen Comité voor de Mensenrechten, the Dutch section of the International Commission of Jurists for Human Rights), as she believes that the law should serve a just society.
Annemieke has a master's degree in Public Law (2018) and Corporate Law (2017), both from Utrecht University. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in law from the Utrecht Law College (the honours programme of the Utrecht University). During her bachelor’s degree course, Annemieke completed an Erasmus exchange at the University of Copenhagen, where she focused on European law and political science.
