Recent work includes summary proceedings for a major Dutch supermarket company against a municipality relating to the enforcement of a permit, advisory work for a big four audit firm as a member of Stibbe’s accountancy and accountants’ liability team and proceedings concerning sustainability requirements for the use of biomass for electricity production.
Before joining Stibbe, Wouter was a lecturer in private law at Leiden University for six years. In June 2016, he successfully defended his PhD thesis on the concept of the protective scope (relativiteitsleer; Schutznormdoctrine) of statutory provisions in Dutch tort law.
Wouter has (co)authored numerous blogs and journal articles on contract law, tort law and civil procedure. He is a member of the editorial board of the Dutch civil law journal Maandblad voor Vermogensrecht (MvV).
