Oliver has a solid track-record in representing financial institutions, public authorities, infrastructure operators and other large corporations before courts and arbitral tribunals. He advises and assists these clients in the fields of contracts and torts, banking and finance, insurance, corporate, and insolvency law.
Over the years, Oliver has also acquired an extensive experience in defending investor mass claims and follow-on competition damages claims. He leads the insurance and reinsurance litigation team, which gained substantial market recognition in its handling of important insurance claims in various fields (terrorism, property, professional indemnity, credit insurance, financial lines, etc.). He obtained a registration as Collaborative Lawyer, which entitles him to conduct collaborative negotiations.
Oliver was a part-time assistant professor at the Institute for the Law of Obligations (Instituut voor Verbintenissenrecht) of KU Leuven from 2000 to 2005. He is the author of various publications on his areas of expertise and a regular guest speaker at seminars and conferences. He graduated in Law from KU Leuven in 1995 and obtained a diploma of specialised studies in Economic Law from the Université libre de Bruxelles in 1997.
He joined the Brussels office of Stibbe in 1999.
