Our team assists with all aspects of pension-related matters, in particular:
- For the Netherlands: disputes about indexation, amendment of pension plans, managing obligations to participate in industry-wide pension funds or to get exemptions, outsourcing and the liquidation of pension funds. With support from a strong network of actuaries and consultants, we provide comprehensive solutions for a wide range of pension-related challenges. Our Amsterdam-based team is particularly experienced in helping clients navigate the recent reforms of the Dutch pension system, including the Future Pensions Act (Wet toekomst pensioenen), which came into force on 1 July 2023. This act represents the most significant pension reform in decades, and Dutch pension providers and employers must transition to the new system by 1 January 2028.
- For Belgium: financial aspects of pension transfers between employers, impact on financial pension obligations of public sector restructurings, harmonisation of pension plans. Our Brussels-based team is particularly experienced in pension litigation with a speciality in the public sector.
