Fossielvrij NL has launched a greenwashing claim against Royal Dutch Airlines KLM, the first of its kind to be brought under the Dutch collective action regime.

While the claims formally focus on KLM's advertisement and PR strategy relating to carbon neutrality issues, the NGO essentially targets the sustainability of global civil aviation as a whole, KLM's ambitions to grow, and its lobbying activities. Fossielvrij is working closely together with ClientEarth, known from climate litigation in the UK against Shell’s Board of Directors and in France against TotalEnergies.
