Stibbe Brussels reinforces Public Law and EU/Competition Law practices with two Counsel appointments

Stibbe Brussels has promoted Sophie Adriaenssen to Counsel in its Public Law practice group and has welcomed Quentin Declève as Counsel in its EU/Competition Law practice. The appointments are effective as per 1 January 2023.

Sophie Adriaenssen started her career at Stibbe in 2012. She specialises in general administrative law, particularly civil service law (including public pensions), public finance law, restructuring of public bodies, and division of powers within the Belgian federal state. Sophie also handles administrative disputes before the Constitutional Court, the Council of State and ordinary courts and tribunals. In additions, she drafts administrative decisions and legislative and regulatory texts.

Quentin Declève has a broad experience in EU law and Belgian and EU competition law. He advises clients on State aid, merger control, anti-competitive agreements (including cartel investigations), abuse of dominance, and abuse of economic dependence. Quentin gained extensive experience as an antitrust litigator at both domestic and international levels. He assists clients in matters involving EU and competition proceedings before the EU and Belgian courts.
