Junior Associate Employment Law
Stibbe is a leading independent Benelux law firm with main offices in Amsterdam, Brussels and Luxembourg, and a branch office in London. Our Brussels office is one of the leading law firms in the Belgian market, with around 160 lawyers in 12 practice groups. We provide our clients with high quality legal advice and representation in an international context.
In order to support the growth of our Brussels employment law team, we are looking for a junior associate passionate about employment law.
Amongst a broad spectrum of expertise, our Employment team has a special focus in complex strategic employment issues such as executive remuneration, equal pay, flexible work solutions and restructuring issues. Litigation is also an inseparable component of our work and we act on matters relating to various employment and pensions issues. In this field, we have been involved in many litigation cases amongst unions, groups of employees and executives.
Our experience also encompasses negotiating and drafting employment contracts, compensations and benefits schemes, collective bargaining agreements and advising on the many legal constraints of a dismissal.
As strategic employment law matters entail legal aspects beyond traditional employment law, we regularly work in close partnerships with our regulatory, tax, corporate and corporate governance specialists.
Job description
As a junior associate you will:
- be thoroughly trained to become a real specialist in employment law;
- work with many different people on very diversified and high level cases and transactions;
- will handle these files and projects from A to Z in French, Dutch and English;
- assist different clients on large, national, and international projects with fellow associates from our various practice areas;
- be given the opportunity to liaise with clients and opponents and learn to represent clients in legal proceedings and negotiations.
The ideal candidate
- You have a passion for law and working on high-level challenging cases, in which you are not afraid to take responsibility;
- You have strong analytical skills and you are able to communicate your thoughts and findings in a clear and comprehensive manner;
- You have a Belgian law degree with an excellent academic record;
- You are a graduating student, or you have up to 3 years of experience as a lawyer;
- Your are a native Dutch speaker with business proficiency (both written and spoken) in the other national language and English.
- You focus on building strong relationships with clients and you provide high-quality advice;
- You are a team player and you excel in personal connections.
