Stibbe appoints three new partners
Muriël Rosing, Jan van Oosten and IJsbrand van Straten have been appointed as partners at Stibbe in Amsterdam with effect from 1 January 2020. Muriël is a criminal law specialist, Jan is a recognised expert in environment and planning law, and IJsbrand is a specialist in (notarial) corporate law.
Muriël Rosing leads a multidisciplinary research team with which she advises and litigates in the field of compliance and criminal law. Regulators and investigative bodies are currently putting a great deal of effort into tackling fraud, bribery, money laundering and other economic crimes, and Muriël assists companies and directors who are involved in large-scale criminal investigations.
Jan van Oosten advises national and international companies and governments on complex and large-scale intra- and extra-urban area developments. Environment and planning law is constantly evolving, both at Dutch and European levels. Climate change, the energy transition and housing challenges call for high-quality legal and strategic advice. The appointment of Jan is therefore an important strengthening of Stibbe's environment and planning practice.
IJsbrand van Straten advises on international transactions (including cross-border deals), private equity and restructurings. After working for Stibbe both in New York and in London, IJsbrand now returns as a partner with Stibbe in Amsterdam. His experience and expertise fit seamlessly with the complex issues increasingly arising in Stibbe’s transaction practice.
Derk Lemstra, Managing Partner of Stibbe Amsterdam: "Muriël, Jan and IJsbrand have proven their talent in recent years and all three have developed into top specialists in their field. As far as I am concerned, their appointment is an important contribution to our ambition to advise clients on complex, high-end legal issues."
