Stibbe advises Macquarie and Siemens
This project involves widening the A9 (when finished, there will be four lanes in each direction) between Holendrecht (A2) and Badhoevedorp (A4), and the creation of a new interchange. Near Amstelveen, 1.3 kilometres of the A9 highway will be re-laid to sit deeper in the ground, and the highway will be covered by a roof in three locations: one in the region of Oude Dorp, one at Stadshart and one near Bovenlandpand (which is now known as Kloostunnel). Noise barriers will also be installed.
Macquarie Capital and Siemens have formed a consortium - Consortium VEENIX - with Count&Cooper and Spanish construction company FCC. As the consortium has now been appointed as preferred bidder, Stibbe will assist the consortium in finalising and negotiating the construction contracts and the finance documents. Project financing of approximately EUR 700m will be raised.
