On Thursday 7 September 2023, from 4:00 to 5:30 pm, the seminar “Samen schikken, of niet?” (To settle or not to settle?) will be held at our Amsterdam office.

Based on the current settlement and prosecution practices of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, companies are settling lawsuits whereby associated individuals may be prosecuted. Our Corporate Criminal Law practice group will discuss why it is unwilling to accept the current policy enforced by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
To share their vision with you, they will take you through the implications of the policy, the problems and consequences involved, and the relation between the reputational damage generated by a settlement and the presumption of innocence.
