Paper Dutch Transformation Forum: New value in a new sustainable future

At the Dutch Transformation Forum (DTF) event, centered around the theme ‘On the Road to Net Zero’, the paper ‘Beyond the tipping point: New value in a new sustainable future’ was presented. The paper covers the urgently needed transition towards a sustainable future, for which we have to put a new lens on the concept of value. We can do so, for example, by introducing a model that combines societal and financial value. For such a model to be effective, we may need to rethink propositions, enter new types of partnerships or explore clever ways to merge individual interest into common interests.
This paper explores opportunities and what we can do to help. The government could accelerate and clarify the transition. Corporates could explore opportunities to actively contribute, for example by entering partnerships to implement sustainable strategies. Education could be aligned with innovation needs and the sustainability agenda to be successful. Everyone plays a vital role in the change.
Colleagues Anna Collignon, Marieke Driessen, Valérie van ‘t Lam, Martin In de Braekt and Tom Barkhuysen authored a short paper about legal and regulatory issues for boards and corporates to consider. They highlight selected developments in administrative law and finance law relevant to the climate and energy transition.
