Matthias specialises in public law, with a focus on public restructuring and public companies.
He deals with matters related to public procurement, concessions, public contracts, public-private partnerships (PPPs), public financing, civil service law as well as general administrative and public law. Matthias advises clients on these matters and represents them in contentious procedures before the Council of State, the Constitutional Court and the civil courts. He also has experience in drafting laws and regulatory texts.
Matthias is the author of various publications on his areas of expertise and a regular guest speaker at seminars and conferences.
He obtained a master’s degree in Law from the University of Antwerp in 2012. In 2017, he completed a doctoral degree in Law at that same university. Matthias has been a voluntary academic assistant within the research group Government & Law (Overheid & Recht) of the University of Antwerp since 2017. In addition, he is a member of the Journal for municipal law (Tijdschrift voor gemeenterecht) since 2018.
Matthias joined the Brussels office of Stibbe in 2017.
