He regularly represents companies, shareholders, and (executive and non-executive) directors in corporate litigation matters, including proceedings before the Enterprise Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal. His area of expertise includes the law of cooperatives, associations and foundations.
Koen holds a doctorate from VU University Amsterdam for a thesis on directors' duties. He is a lecturer in corporate law at VU University Amsterdam and at The Law Firm School.
Koen has written numerous articles and case commentaries on corporate law. He is a member of the board of the Royal Society for Commercial Law (Koninklijke Vereeniging “Handelsrecht”), a member of the editorial board of the corporate law journal Maandblad voor Ondernemingsrecht and a fellow of the Zuidas Institute for Corporate Law and Financial Law.
