Ignace specialises in patents, patent litigation, trademarks, copyright, designs, know-how protection, technology transfer, and specific regulations that apply to pharmaceutical products. He is the author of various publications on his areas of expertise and a regular guest speaker at seminars and conferences.
Ignace is the President of the Dutch-speaking section of the Belgian Patent Attorney Accreditation Commission appointed by the minister of Economic Affaires. He is also an arbitrator and mediator of the World Intellectual Property organisation and a panellist at the Czech Arbitration Court. Furthermore, Ignace is a founding member and chairman of the editorial board of the Journal Intellectuele Rechten – Droits Intellectuels published by Wolters Kluwer, board member of the Dutch Foundation for the education of Benelux Trademark and Design Professionals (BBMM) and chairman of the disciplinary board of the Benelux Association for Trademark and Design Law (BMM). His other memberships include Cepani, the International Trademark Association, the Belgian Copyright Association, the International Literary and Artistic Association, the International Association for Consumer Law, the Licensing Executives Society and the European Patent Lawyers Association.
Ignace graduated in Law from Ghent University. He also holds a degree in Economic Law from the Université libre de Bruxelles. He is a professor for the Introduction to Law course at Thomas More University of Applied Sciences and a coordinator for the professional education programme of the Benelux Association for Trademark and Design.
Ignace joined the Brussels office of Stibbe in 2007.
