Henk has extensive experience across a wide range of tax-related issues, encompassing complex tax litigation, advisory work, transfer pricing matters, and tax work in corporate and financial transactions. He has a strong track record in assisting clients in their negotiations with tax authorities and representing them before the administrative and judicial courts.
After graduating with a Master of Laws degree from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven) (1999, magna cum laude), Henk obtained an LL.M in Taxation from New York University School of Law in 2003. He also studied law at the University of Michigan Law School, Ann Arbor, USA, in 1999.
Henk is a professor at the University of Leuven and the Brussels Tax School (Fiscale Hogeschool), where he teaches various tax courses. Additionally, he is a member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and the Tax Practice Council of the International Tax Program at NYU School of Law, USA.
He speaks at (tax) seminars and authors books and articles on tax-related topics regularly. He also serves as the editor of Tijdschrift Beleggingsfiscaliteit / Revue Fiscalité des Placements.
Henk joined the Brussels office of Stibbe as a partner in 2018, following his tenure as a tax partner at another law firm in Brussels since December 2008.
