Stibbe wins case before Supreme Court regarding transparent distribution of government land
Today, the Supreme Court issued a groundbreaking ruling on the sale of real estate by government entities such as municipalities. The Supreme Court ruled that, unlike in the past, public authorities must sell land in a transparent manner that gives all interested parties the opportunity to bid.
In this case Stibbe argued on behalf of a company that a town hall location should not be directly transferred to a competitor. There should be a transparent sale procedure in which all interested parties get a chance to bid for the land in question. The Supreme Court, unlike the District Court, the Court of Appeal and the AG at the Supreme Court, follows this argument of Stibbe.
