Stibbe represents online platform Temper in proceedings against trade unions

The platform economy is a hotly debated topic in the Netherlands. Stibbe represented Temper in a collective reclassification case brought by the trade unions FNV and CNV. The key issues include whether the platform workers should be considered employees of the platform and whether certain collective labour agreements are applicable. The Temper case is one of the first class actions for labour law issues under the new Dutch opt-out regime for collective damages (the "WAMCA").
