Stibbe acted as defence counsel for the telecom service provider Vodafone in mass litigation initiated by the Dutch Consumer Association (Consumentenbond).

We also advised Vodafone on related claims presented by several claim vehicles. The allegations from the claimants were based on a 2016 Dutch Supreme Court judgment. According to this judgment, an “all-in” subscription, where a consumer paid combined subscription fees for both telecom services and a smartphone, could be partially annulled if specific information regarding the allocation of these fees was not provided to the consumer at the beginning of the subscription.
