Stibbe represented parties from the advertising industry in proceedings against the municipality of Amsterdam.

The municipality has stipulated in a regulation that unaddressed advertising material may not be delivered unless the recipient has indicated in advance that he would appreciate unaddressed advertising (opt-in system). Stibbe argued that such an opt-in system is contrary to national and European law. However, the Supreme Court ruled that such a system is permissible.
