Stibbe has advised OMV Petrom S.A., Romania's largest oil and gas company, together with its Austrian parent company OMV AG, on the acquisition of a stake in EIT InnoEnergy.

Founded in 2010 as an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), EIT InnoEnergy is dedicated to accelerating the energy transition. 

The new shareholders in EIT InnoEnergy (including OMV Petrom S.A. & OMV AG) broaden EIT InnoEnergy’s investor base, topping up the 2023 private placement round of over €140 million in fresh equity, building on EIT InnoEnergy’s footprint in Europe.
