Stibbe advises Concentra
Stibbe advised Concentra on its joint venture with Corelio. The joint-venture between these two publishing companies will be called “Het Mediahuis”.
Following the joint venture, Corelio owns 62% of this new company, and Concentra 38%. “Het Mediahuis” owns both publishing companies’ Flemish newspapers, incl. Corelio’s De Standaard and Het Nieuwsblad and Concentra’s Het Belang van Limburg and Gazet van Antwerpen, as well as all digital publishing activities (news websites, job websites, etc.). This deal is significant considering the large daily total print run of the newspapers that is affected by this deal. Belgian newspapers have a print run of over 1.3 million copies in total, which also includes the Walloon (French language) press. The new joint-venture will be responsible for a daily print run of more than 500.000 newspapers. This transaction aims to create a base solution to the significant challenges in production and costs that print media are facing.
