It’s almost four years since the French Parliament passed the landmark anticorruption law known as Sapin II, heralding a new era for compliance programmes, investigations and enforcement. It is now Germany’s turn to overhaul its approach to corporate crime enforcement with the draft corporate sanctions law, expected to pass in 2021. Our panel will discuss what these and other developments mean for the compliance and enforcement environment in France, Germany and across Europe.
- What is different about Germany’s proposed approach to corporate criminal responsibility?
- How will it impact cross-border and internal investigations?
- How do the approaches of various authorities across Europe to compliance differ? How do these differences impact multinationals?
- What are other countries similarly doing to improve systems and controls surrounding bribery and money laundering? How are multinationals responding?
