Nicolas has extensive experience in commercial, contractual, and construction project disputes. He frequently assists clients in litigation in the corporate/M&A, banking, and energy sectors. Moreover, he has significant expertise in crisis management and pre-litigation issues (including in the context of projects performance). Widely seen as one of the leading experts in his fields, Nicolas regularly advises clients (such as large multinationals, governments, and banks) on their most strategic and complex matters and helps them resolve their business-critical disputes.
He is a member of Cepani (the Belgian Centre for Arbitration and Mediation). He is also the author of various publications on his areas of expertise and a regular guest speaker at seminars and conferences.
Nicolas graduated in Law from the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in 2001. He obtained a postgraduate degree in Corporate Law and Financial Law from Ghent University in 2002. He was an Assistant Professor to the law of contracts and obligations and torts courses at the ULB from 2004 to 2014. In 2004, he was awarded the Boels prize by the Conférence du Jeune Barreau de Bruxelles for the best oral pleadings.
He joined the Brussels office of Stibbe in 2015.
