Nicolas Pradel
Nicolas advises international clients on various regulatory matters, notably in relation to the financial, energy, ICT, and insurance sectors. He also assists them in relation to lending and capital markets transactions as well as dispute/litigation matters.

Nicolas particularly focuses on regulatory matters applicable to financial institutions and asset managers, including MiFID/CRD/PSD related regulatory issues, licencing requirements, SFDR, Taxonomy Regulation, MAR, FDI screening, and AML/CFT topics. He also has significant expertise in various aspects of EU law and Luxembourg law.
He is the author of several publications in the field of banking and financial law. Nicolas has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar and Paris Bar since 2019. He is also a member of the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL), the Association luxembourgeoise pour le droit de l'environnement (ALDE), the Observatoire luxembourgeois de droit européen (OLDE), and the European Law Commission of the Luxembourg Bar.
Nicolas holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in International and European Law from Aix-Marseille University (2008). He also obtained a Ph.D. in EU law from that same university (2015).
Prior to joining Stibbe in 2018, he worked at the Corporate, Banking and Finance departments of an independent Luxembourg business law firm and at the legal departments of an EU financial body and a French investment institution. In addition, he was a Research and Teaching Assistant for several years at the Centre for Studies and Research in International and European Law of the Aix-Marseille University.
