Nicolas specialises in regulatory matters applicable to financial institutions and asset managers. His proficiency covers a spectrum of regulations including MiFID/CRD/PSD, licencing requirements, SFDR, Taxonomy Regulation, MAR, FDI screening, and AML/CFT topics). Moreover, he possesses in-depth knowledge of various aspects of EU law and Luxembourg law.
Nicolas is the author of several publications in the field of banking and financial law. He is a member of the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL), the Association luxembourgeoise pour le droit de l'environnement (ALDE), the Observatoire luxembourgeois de droit européen (OLDE), and the European Law Commission of the Luxembourg Bar.
He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in International and European Law from Aix-Marseille University (2008), followed by a Ph.D. in EU law from the same institution (2015).
Prior to joining Stibbe in 2018, he worked at the Corporate, Banking and Finance department of an independent Luxembourg business law firm and at the legal departments of an EU financial body and a French investment institution. Additionally, he served as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the Centre for Studies and Research in International and European Law of the Aix-Marseille University for several years.
