Maarten specialises in constitutional law and administrative law, with a particular focus on spatial planning, permits and environmental law.
He has experience in proceedings before the Council of State (Raad van State/Conseil d’Etat), the Council of Permit Disputes (Raad voor Vergunningsbetwistingen) and the civil courts. In addition, he has published several articles on these topics.
Maarten obtained a master’s degree in Law from Ghent University in 2018. He also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in Public International Law, Environmental Law and Law of the Sea from Utrecht University (2019).
Maarten joined the Brussels office of Stibbe in 2019.
