Irène Mathy
Irène has a strong expertise in public law in the broadest sense. For many years, she has been assisting public and private clients with excellence and pragmatism, qualities that she owes to her profession as a lawyer but also to her academic role within two renowned law faculties.
Irène has a strong expertise in public law in the broadest sense. For many years, she has been assisting public and private clients with excellence and pragmatism, qualities that she owes to her profession as a lawyer but also to her academic role within two renowned law faculties.
In particular, she has extensive experience in public procurement, public bodies, civil service, public real estate and regulation in the electronic communications sector. She also assists numerous public and private clients in their litigation procedures before the Council of State, the Constitutional Court and the civil courts. She distinguishes herself by excellent legislative drafting skills. She regularly assists public authorities with the drafting of laws, decrees, ordonnances and regulatory texts, and she provides training in drafting legislation.
Irène is the author of various publications on her areas of expertise and a regular guest speaker at seminars and conferences.
She holds a master’s degree in Law with a specialisation in public law from the Université libre de Bruxelles. She was an assistant to the History of Law course at the law faculty of that same university for 15 years. Since 2009, she lectures the Sources and Principles of Law course and acts as an assistant in administrative law at UCLouvain Saint-Louis Bruxelles.
Irène joined the Brussels office of Stibbe in 2007.
