As a litigator and corporate law advisor his focus areas include issues and disputes relating to corporate governance, corporate restructuring, public tender offers, related party transactions, mergers and acquisitions and directors’ liability.
Fons has a master in law from Amsterdam University and an LL.M from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA).
Fons is the chairperson of the corporate law advisory committee of the Dutch Bar Association and the Royal Association of Dutch Civil Law Notaries. He is editor of the leading Commentary on Dutch Company Legislation (Tekst & Commentaar Ondernemingsrecht) and a regular contributor to the commentaries of the Dutch Journal for Company Law (JOR). Fons is a substitute judge at the Court of Appeal in The Hague and regularly acts as an arbitrator, mainly in M&A disputes.
